Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician with a strong background in large machine tool repair (manual as well as CNC), electrical systems, and facility modernization. This role is critical to supporting our transition to a more efficient and digitally connected manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be a licensed electrician with hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading complex CNC equipment and facility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
    • Diagnose, repair, and maintain machine tools (e.g., horizontal/vertical mills, lathes, up to 5-axis centers).
    • Lead or support modernization projects, including retrofitting legacy equipment and integrating smart technologies (sensors, PLCs, HMIs).
    • Perform electrical maintenance on control panels, VFDs, and facility power distribution.
    • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, electrical schematics, and equipment upgrades.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including NFPA 70E, OSHA, and LOTO procedures.
    • Create/Support predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
    • Train junior technicians on electrical safety, CNC diagnostics, and modernization best practices.

Required Qualifications
    • Experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on machine tools.
    • Basic machining and fabrication skills (welding, lathe, and mill).
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
    • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
    • Familiarity with shop modernization technologies.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive.

Preferred Qualifications
    • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field.
    • Strong knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, or similar CNC control systems.
    • Licensed Journeyman Electrician (Washington State or transferable equivalent).
    • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred).
    • In-depth knowledge of CMMS software.
    • OSHA 30 certification.

Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
    • Ability to safely perform work at elevated heights using aerial lifts (man basket, scissor lift)
    • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
