Machine Assistant

We are currently searching for 1st Shift Machine Assistant for our Jackson, MI location. As a Machine Assistant you can expect to produce corrugated or chip packaging products for our customers in coherence with promoting the corporate vision, mission statement, and core values.

What you need to be successful at Opus Packaging:

· Must be 18 years or older.

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural documents.

· Work safely.

· Previous experience in warehouse or packaging environment.

It’d be great if you also have:

· Basic math skills.

· Ability to properly use and understand the required measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required by specific jobs.

During a normal workday you can expect to:

· Bend, reach, stoop, squat and stand for 8 hours.

· Have good hand - eye coordination.

· Occasional lifting of 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-20 pounds.

· Understand machine set-up, machine runs, plant data entry, handwork, or assembly assignments.
