The Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role within the Production team, working closely in a cross-functional environment to oversee planning activities for mixed production processes, including aerospace, defense, exotic metals, process manufacturing, and assembly-based operations. This role requires daily interaction with suppliers to ensure smooth material flow and relies heavily on tools such as Epicor to optimize production scheduling and inventory management without travel requirements. Experience in CNC machining further supports the planner’s ability to coordinate complex manufacturing processes effectively.
Req:
- Proficiency in work instruction/traveler creation, specifically within the aerospace industry
- Understanding of bills of materials and lead times
- Understanding of blueprints and GD&T (pdf and model based)
- Capability to create work instructions from scratch for new parts
- Familiar with Boeing, Lockheed, and Northrop process requirements
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor)
Responsibilities:
- The role involves compliance with customer and product procurement specifications, implementing engineering changes, and validating that the manufacturing process meets all customer and internal requirements
- Responsible for creating clear and concise work instructions for detail parts, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies
- Comply with customer and product procurement specifications

- Work with purchasing to order materials required for planned parts
- Submit and update traveler/engineering to customers through customer portals/emails
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace parts and assemblies (machining, assembly, sheet metal, or similar)
- Create and maintain routers/travelers, work instructions, process specs, and standard work
