Job Description

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing service and support for YCM Technology customers by performing machine installation, startup, repair and maintenance of the equipment. This includes providing an excellent customer service experience. This position travels about 60% of the time (expenses are paid).

YCMT is looking for Field Service engineers in Michigan.

Duties & Responsibilities

Installation and commissioning of CNC machine tool and accessories

Work in conjunction with Applications Engineer on customer machine issues as required

Conduct on-site customer training

Perform preventive machine maintenance and inspection

Provide onsite troubleshooting and machine repair

Promptly prepare and submit installation, service and expense reports including time sheets

Must be available to travel overnight, occasional weekends, and holidays

Other related duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have a history, knowledge, and 5 years experience with CNC machine tool installation and repair

Must have knowledge and able to repair machine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components

Must be able to use basic hand tools & electrical test equipment

Proficiency in Microsoft office (Outlook, Word and Excel)

Must have 3 and/or 5 axis machine tool experience.

Must have strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.

Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics

Must be organized and able to effectively communicate both verbally and written

Must be able to professionally work both independently and in a team environment

Must to be proactive and able to anticipate arising needs and take appropriate action

Must abide by company ethics and standards upholding confidential information

Education Requirements

Technical Degree, Engineering Degree or Equivalent Work Experience

Other Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving history
