Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Account Applications Engineer is the main point of technical contact across the organization, supporting both customers, and internal teams. The primary responsibilities include providing technical support, ensuring VAVE commitments are met, supporting ECN review process, performing line walks/teardowns, attending on-site customer visits, ensuring standardization, facilitating customer fastener trainings and assisting on quality concerns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for the identification of application issues and cost reduction opportunities to help us meet our customers' Value-Added/Value-Engineered cost savings initiatives.
• Consult on the proper application of products and solutions, assist in the development of new business, support sales, and provide product demonstrations.
• Acts as the key technical advisor and resources for various internal departments.
• Analysis and troubleshooting of fastener and assembly related applications.
• Assist Quality department in the analysis of failure modes of fasteners and related components.
• Facilitate training seminars for intercompany and customer knowledge sharing events.
• Ability to identify and solve cost reduction opportunities resulting in lower overall cost to customers.
• Assist with the sales process through regularly scheduled customer visits and new customer presentations.
• Contribute to the improvement of the sales team and promote teamwork throughout the organization. Provide technical support to all internal departments.
• Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes throughout the operational organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• BS Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, etc.) or related field.
• Experience with fastener related products/applications a considerable plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relay information to the customer and
coordinate with business partners.
• Time management skills and personal responsibility to ensure productivity in a self-directed working
environment.
• Critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative
solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• AutoCAD, Pro-Engineer, or other CAD software experience a plus
• Sales and customer service (internal/external) focus.
• Understands big picture company goals and how they are supported by individual success.
• Good judgement, decision making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain a valid drivers' license and clean driving record
• Must occasionally lift, carry, or move up to 25 lbs.
• Travel to customers sites as needed - 30%
