Job description

Company Overview:

We are a family-owned, industry-leading contract manufacturer specializing in high-mix, low-volume machined, fabricated, welded, and assembled components. Our commitment to quality, precision, and innovation drives everything we do. We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with expertise in operating a HAAS DSY30 Lathe, and/or UMC 750 5 Axis Mill to join our growing team.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer to support advanced machining operations on a Haas UMC-750 5-axis mill and Haas DS-30Y mill-turn lathe with a robotic integration. This role is ideal for a machinist who takes pride in owning the full machining process—from programming and setup through final part verification—in a high-mix, tight-tolerance manufacturing environment.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on complex parts, contribute to process improvements, and play a key role in driving efficiency and quality on the shop floor. This is an exciting opportunity to work in advanced manufacturing, on cutting edge equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program HAAS DSY30 Lathe directly at the control panel, optimizing tool paths and machining processes.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor the HAAS DSY30 Lathe with robotic loader to produce parts to precise specifications.
  • Program, set-up and operate Haas UMC-750.
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software.
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and work holding strategies for complex geometries.
  • Perform tooling changes, offsets, and adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and in-process checks to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining and robotic loader issues.
  • Continuously improve cycle times, tool life, and process efficiency
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes and reduce downtime.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience, with proven experience with 5 axis and mill turn / live tooling lathes.
  • Proven ability to program at the machine without relying solely on CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, tooling, and machining best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with robotic loaders in a CNC environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision work.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay based on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, etc.).
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Opportunities for skill development and training.
  • A team-focused, collaborative work environment.
