About the Role

A.W. Miller Technical Sales is a leading machine tool distributor supporting manufacturers across Pennsylvania with CNC equipment, programming, and applications expertise. We're hiring a Machine Application Tool Engineer to be the technical backbone behind our customer relationships — helping customers get the most out of their CNC machines through hands-on applications support, programming, and troubleshooting. This role works closely with our Mazak platform and puts your machining and CAD/CAM background directly in front of customers who need it.

What You'll Work On

•        Mazak machines and Mazatrol conversational programming (applications, programming, troubleshooting)

•        4th and 5th axis machining setups and CAD/CAM programming

•        Machine tool selection, installation, and setup support for customers

•        Optimizing machining programs and tool paths for customer applications

•        On-site customer training on machine operation and programming

Day-to-Day

•        Work independently across multiple customer projects at once, prioritizing and managing your own schedule

•        Travel on-site for installs, training, and project support, including occasional overnights

•        Coordinate with internal teams to keep projects moving and customers satisfied

•        Build long-term technical relationships with customers as their go-to applications resource

What You Bring

•        5+ years of hands-on machining experience

•        Demonstrated CAD/CAM programming experience, with the ability to develop and optimize efficient machining programs

•        Mazak machine experience and Mazatrol conversational programming strongly preferred

•        Strong independent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once

•        Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills

•        Willingness to travel overnight for project assignments and training

Nice to Have

•        Process engineering experience

•        Experience training customers on new equipment or software

What We Offer

•        Competitive hourly pay

•        401(k)

•        Health insurance

•        Paid time off

•        Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shift schedule

•        A trusted, independent role supporting customers with cutting-edge CNC technology
