Job description

Clayton Services is searching for a Shop Floor Technician to join a growing manufacturing organization in Houston. The Shop Floor Technician will support production operations through material handling, assembly support, finishing work, equipment operation, and general shop responsibilities while helping ensure quality standards and production deadlines are met.


Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $15.00 - $16.00/hour
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, PTO, and additional company-sponsored benefits available upon permanent hire.


Shop Floor Technician Responsibilities:

  • Assist with material preparation, movement, and handling throughout the production process
  • Support fabrication, assembly, finishing, and polishing activities on manufactured products
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Prepare finished products for packaging, shipping, and delivery
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow company safety procedures and quality standards at all times
  • Work closely with production team members to meet project schedules and production goals
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities to learn additional equipment and production processes
  • Inspect materials and completed work for quality and accuracy
  • Assist with general shop duties and other tasks as assigned


Shop Floor Technician Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing, production, construction, or industrial work environments
  • Experience using common hand tools and power tools preferred
