Job description

Encore Wire is one of the nationโ€™s top copper and aluminum wire manufacturers, outfitting residential, commercial and industrial spaces across the US for a customer base that would blow your mind! Producing over $1 billion of wire every year, with over 1,600 employees and over 3 million sq. ft. of manufacturing space under our roof, we want to continue our history of growth. Encore is seeking an individual who is looking to join the Maintenance Team. In this role, you will be working as a Machinist in our Machine Shop.

Essential Job Functions

The machine shop candidate will need to be skillful at operatingย manualย machine shop equipment including knee mills, lathes, surface grinders, saws, hoist, drill press, Morrison key seater, and a forklift. The applicant will need to be able to read prints and/or make parts from a sample. Needs to be able to work in a team environment, have their own tools, and able to workย nights and weekends. The candidate will need to have basic computer skills. Prefer candidates with at least 5 years of experience operating in a machine shop environment. The candidate will not be using any CNC equipment in this position.

Hours:

Nights 9pm-7am

Work Environment & Physical Responsibilities:

Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside. Comfortable with repetitive movement, kneeling, crouching and stooping. Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds while bending, twisting and/or standing.
