Job description

Machine Shop Sawing Specialist, Metrology & Setup

Join a collaborative machine shop team where precision cutting and smooth material flow power our production. At W. H. Leary, youโ€™ll apply technical rigor, partner closely with peers across operations, and see the direct results of your craftsmanship every day.

Role focus
  • Configure sawing equipment per job traveler, including calibration, blade selection, and attachment installation.
  • Prepare work: position, secure, and mark stock for accurate cutting.
  • Run saws to process various materials while monitoring machine performance and making adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect output using calipers, micrometers, and related gauges to confirm tolerance and specification conformance.
  • Maintain equipment with regular cleaning, lubrication, and component replacement (blades, belts, etc.).
  • Deburr and finish edges by filing, grinding, and smoothing to meet finishing standards.
  • Record daily production and complete all required administrative documentation.
