Job description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced CNC Machinists for projects located in or around Tukwila, WA. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is $40-$45/hour based on experience and skill level.  If you are a Machinist and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

Job Scope:     

  • Operate conventional manual machining equipment, including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and related machinery
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, and associated lifting and rigging equipment
  • Perform mechanical measurements using precision instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, vibration measurement equipment, and other portable measuring devices, including shaft run-out measurements
  • Machine and fabricate parts using engine lathes, grinders, drill presses, and other shop equipment
  • Create accurate drawings and prints for parts requiring fabrication
  • Diagnose incoming units; disassemble, repair, reassemble, and prepare equipment for shipment
  • Perform mechanical rebuilds and repairs on rotating equipment, including electric motors, pumps, fans, and related apparatus
  • Measure and record inspection data using calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, and vibration meters
  • Use multimeter's, megohmmeters (Meggers), and Baker instruments to test winding resistance, RTDs, heater resistances, and verify mechanical fits and clearances.

Requirements:

  • Ability to accurately read and use micrometers and other precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to operate manual lathes of various sizes and capacities
  • Ability to work to tolerances of ±0.001 inch
  • Ability to understand, perform, and retain job-related training, operational procedures, and safety requirements
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required/needed

Preferred:

  • 3 or more years of machinist experience in electric motor repair
  • Experience in a motor shop, machine shop, tool and die stamping environment, or oilfield industry
  • 1-5 years of AC/DC motor repair experience
