Job description

Position Overview:
The Machine Shop Technician is responsible for supporting daily operations within the machine shop by preparing equipment, materials, and fixtures to ensure efficient production. This role assists with EDM and CNC milling operations by setting up jobs, loading and unloading machines, preparing work holding fixtures and tooling, and maintaining an organized work area. The ideal candidate has basic machine shop experience, is mechanically inclined, and is eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
 
 
Shift Schedule

Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm with occasional overtime as required.

Responsibilities
  • Support Wire EDM operations by preparing and setting up production jobs.
  • Load build plates into CNC milling machine.
  • Operate CNC mills to complete established production programs.
  • Unload completed parts and inspect for obvious defects or damage before moving to the next operation.
  • Prepare tooling plates and fixtures for surface grinding operations.
  • Assist machine operators with machine setups, tooling changes, and production support activities.
  • Verify that required tools, fixtures, consumables, and materials are available prior to production.
  • Deburr, clean, and organize parts and fixtures as required.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning and assist with preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment using 5S principles.
  • Safely operate forklift, pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment as required, once certified.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform other machine shop and manufacturing support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machining processes.
  • Ability to read work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
  • Basic understanding of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges is preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and basic shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base hourly rate for this full-time position is between $25.00 and $28.00 per hour. This hourly rate range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
