Job description

General Shop Helper Pay Rate and Hours:
  •  Pay Rate: $18/hr. DOE
  •  Hours: Mon-Fri 7am-4pm with OT
As a General Shop Helper, you will be crucial in supporting our machining operations. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with deburring, plating, and general machine shop tasks. You will work closely with our experienced machinists and technicians to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our shop.
 
General Shop Helper Responsibilities:
  • Deburring: Perform deburring tasks to remove sharp edges and burrs from machined parts, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Plating: Assist with plating processes, including preparing parts for plating, monitoring plating baths, and ensuring proper coating thickness.
  • General Machine Shop Tasks: Support various machine shop activities, such as cleaning and maintaining equipment, organizing tools and materials, and assisting with assembly and inspection tasks.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, using precision measuring instruments and following established quality control procedures.
  • Operating Forklift and other warehouse duties 
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
General Shop Helper Requirement and Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience working in a machine shop environment.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers  
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
