Operations Manager- 3rd Shift
Department: Distribution Center Operations

Location: Romeoville, IL - Distribution Center
Compensation: $98,000 - $108,000 / year
Description
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Distribution Center (DC) Operations Manager to join our dynamic team at ASC Engineered Solutions. This role will be crucial to supporting the operational excellence of our distribution center, ensuring the efficient and safe handling of products while driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with our strategic objectives.
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities (Product Pass Thru, Pick, Pack, Ship, Receive, and Inventory Control) within a distribution center, ensuring that our tactics, techniques, procedures, and processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with our company's mission to deliver exceptional service to our customers.
Critical to Success in this role:
  • Understanding material flow through a DC
  • Being able to integrate the DC Ops mission with that of the Manufacturing Machine Shop
  • Being able to make autonomous decisions based on data, analytics, and process

How You Will Help
  • Assist in overseeing daily operations within the distribution center, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards
  • Collaborate with the Distribution Center Manager to develop and implement operational strategies that optimize productivity and reduce costs
  • Lead and mentor a team of warehouse associates, fostering a culture of accountability and performance excellence
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve operational goals
  • Coordinate the training and development of staff to enhance skills and improve operational effectiveness
  • Support inventory management processes, including receiving, storage, and shipping of products, to maintain optimal stock levels
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Act as a liaison between various departments, including inventory control, machine shop operations, logistics, and customer service, to facilitate smooth operations and communication

What You Will Bring
  • 5-7 years of experience in warehouse or distribution center management, with a demonstrated track record of operational excellence
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
  • Proficient in inventory management systems and warehouse management software
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and practices within a distribution environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a results-oriented mindset
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field

  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools to track operational performance
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics optimization

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $98,000.00 - $108,000.00 USD annually*.
