Job description

 
Repairs and maintains machine tools and industrial machines applying knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics pneumatics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.
  • Diagnoses why machine malfunctioned and determines need for adjustment or repair.
  • Dismantle machine or equipment, using hand tools or power tools, to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part.
  • Replaces defective part with new part or repaired part.
  • Assembles and test-operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
  • Maintain and lubricates machine tools and equipment.
  • Assemble and weld auxiliary pieces of equipment as required. 
  • Burn to remove various components of machine as required.
  • Inspects and measures finished parts to maintain statistical process control charts and verify machine repair.
  • Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities. 
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Conduct PM's as assigned.
Qualifications  
  • Two to four years of trade school and or work experience or apprenticeship.
  • Ability to use and interpret fairly complicated blue prints, advanced shop mathematics, variety of precision measuring instruments and to follow through routine clerical procedures.
  • Ability to analyze, plan and perform a sequence of operations where standard or recognized operation methods are available.
  • Must exercise sound judgment in making general decisions relative to machine repairs and etc.
  • Employee is required to supply own tools.
  • Must be able to work well with others.

This role has an hourly salary range of $35 - $45/hr. In addition, you’re eligible for competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Klein Tools Inc.
