Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Machinist/Operator will play a key role in advancing Focus Manufacturing Services’ machining capabilities as we continue to grow and scale our operations. This position is critical to elevating our standards of quality, efficiency, and professionalism across the shop floor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong understanding of machine shop operations
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills
  • Programming and operating CNC machines 
  • Skilled in machine setup and First Article Inspections (FAI)
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, and tooling systems
  • Experience with workplace organization systems such as 5S
  • Familiarity with machine maintenance (coolants, oils, filters, and general upkeep)
  • Minimum 2+ years of machining experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up jobs on multiple machines
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, quality, and productivity
  • Ensure accurate procedures, documentation, and blueprints are in place for all jobs
  • Support job kitting strategies to streamline workflow and reduce waste
  • Follow production schedules and help maintain on-time delivery
  • Understand part names, fixtures, and tooling related to shop procedures
  • Contribute to improving overall shop safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop environment
  • Minimize scrap and rework through quality-focused practices
  • Interpret prints and fully understand GD&T requirements
  • Maximize machine utilization and runtime efficiency
