Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Our Taneytown, MD Pump Manufacturing facility is over 150,000 square feet and provides capability for engineering, design, customer service, machining, assembly, and testing for a diverse product portfolio.
We are currently seeking a Production Planner that will work closely with the department / project managers to make sound business decisions that positively impact the ability to meet the needs of our customers while satisfying quality, inventory, cost, and delivery requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
  • Plan, schedule, and manage the materials for delivering time-critical components to support assigned production area and/or service areas

  • Schedule production jobs based on due dates, customer requirements, and material availability.

  • Evaluate machine shop capacity to maintain schedule adherence for machining production orders.

  • Manage rescheduling process when unforeseen issues arise, keeping customer OTD as the priority

  • Coordinate with warehouse, engineering, manufacturing engineering and quality to minimize schedule impact when issues arise

  • Ability to use ERP systems to identify and track resolution of material shortages

  • Create and organize work order packets

  • Preparing, coordinating, and participating in physical inventory counts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • High school Diploma / or local equivalent with at least 3 years' experience in Materials Replenishment Planning (MRP)

  • Basic knowledge of the fundamental structure and workings of an MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) and/or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems

  • Knowledgeable in scheduling, production planning and detailed scheduling, demand management, purchasing, and capacity management.

  • Positive Attitude, Ethics and Integrity which support Flowserve's Core values

  • Good oral and written communications skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Outlook

  • Capacity to effectively manage multiple, sometimes competing, priorities and still achieve desired results

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement / LEAN methods is desired

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting equipment and perform duties while standing for extended periods of time

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or Supply Chain degree

The pay range for this role is $31.84 - $47.78 per hour.
