Job description

Position Summary:
The Gift Shop Clerk/Cashier will ensure Guests have a positive shopping experience by observing "Winning Attitude" service standards and are performing duties according to proper procedures. The Gift Shop Clerk/Cashier is responsible for providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort's "ELITE" company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
2. Greet all Guests in a courteous and friendly manner and treat fellow Team Members with respect.
3. Efficiently follow all Gift Shop best practice standards, maintain a clean work area at all times, and ensure proper merchandise presentation.
4. Provide prompt and efficient responses to Guests at all times. Respond to Guest issues in a courteous and helpful way, calling a member of the Gift Shop leadership when needed.
5. Follow established Gift Shop procedures.
6. Operate calculator, cash register, and ticket machine.
7. Perform cashiering transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining a high level of awareness and accuracy processing each transaction.
8. Maintain the Gift Shop by restocking shelves, updating pricing information, and completing inventory management tasks as directed by Gift Shop leadership.
9. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of retail products, where Gift Shop merchandise is stored, and assist in retrieving merchandise from outside storage if necessary.
10. Tag, fold, and hang merchandise and stock as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Two (2) years gift shop or other retail experience preferred.
2. Proficiency in inventory tracking and retail systems is preferred.
3. Ability to count and have proficient math skills.
4. Must be organized and detail oriented.
5. Basic computer skills preferred.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
7. Must be at least 18 years of age.
8. Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
3. Ability to stand and move around gift shop for duration of shift.
4. Must be able to reach a height up to 6 feet with or without assistance.
5. Ability to climb and use a stepladder when necessary to perform functions of the job.
