Position Summary

The Machinist I is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the setup and operation of CNC machines, performing basic machining tasks, and supporting experienced machinists as needed. This position is designed to help individuals develop skills in CNC machining through on-the-job training. The Machinist I works under close supervision and is expected to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up and operating CNC lathes, CNC mills, and 5-axis CNC mills.
  • Support experienced machinists with part loading and unloading, material handling, and general shop tasks.
  • Perform basic measurements and visual inspections to verify part quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning machines and work surfaces.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and process documentation accurately.
  • Assist with routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting as directed.
  • Record job information and inspection results as required.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.

The compensation range posted represents the full salary range for the role. Actual pay will be determined based on a candidateโ€™s experience, skills, and the position level ultimately offered. Second shift positions are also eligible for a 10% shift differential.
