About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Manual Machinist to join our Farmington New Mexico team. In this role, you will use your expertise in machining to manufacture and repair precision components for hydraulic systems and heavy equipment. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be integral to delivering high-quality products that support our clients in the mining and heavy equipment industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machining Operations: Set up and operate manual machines (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders) to create or repair hydraulic system components.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and job orders to determine machining specifications.
  • Operation and Adjustments: Operate machines as required, adjust controls, and troubleshoot issues to ensure precision and efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to verify adherence to specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and ensure tools and equipment are in optimal working condition.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to meet client requirements and project deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: Prior experience with manual machining required; hydraulic component machining experience is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with precision measurement tools, and industry machining practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and quality in machining tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address machining challenges effectively.
  • Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a machinist training program or apprenticeship preferred.
