Job description

Machine Shop Planner/Estimator

Temp to Hire or Direct Hire – TBD

Location: Escondido CA

Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviews request for quotation requirements and confirms all required data has been included.
  • Analyzes design, process and quality requirements to determine most economical manufacturing methods required.
  • Develops a manufacturing concept with estimated labor hours for each department, including inspection and material costs.
  • Maintains complete and accurate quote files to support all pricing and labor hours.
  • Reviews manufacturing engineering estimates for changes in design or job scope for adequate labor hours, material, and tooling costs.
  • Advises other departments as to the needed material for a job.

Requirements Include:

  • Requires 3+ years in a Planner/Estimator role
  • 3+ years of recent cost estimating experience, with a strong machining and fabrication background.
  • Must be able to operate computer and various software programs. Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Must have Machine Shop experience.
  • Must be able to correctly interpret engineering and tool designs.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Physical Requirements Include:

  • Sitting 20+ hours a week
  • Walking 1-5 hours a week
  • Standard hearing and visual with ability to read printed material
  • No protective clothing or equipment required in Clerical offices.

Compensation: $35.00-$50 Hr. - DOE
