Job description

Assistant Shop Manager | Glass Doctor of North Texas

Compensation: $18-$23 per hour (based on experience)

Keep the Shop Running, Keep the Jobs Moving

Glass Doctor of North Texas is looking for an Assistant Shop Manager who takes pride in a well-run shop. You're the backbone that keeps materials flowing, inventory accurate, and every IGU (insulated glass unit) built right — so our glaziers can show up to every job with exactly what they need.

If you're organized, hands-on, and like knowing where everything is and why — this is your shop.

What You'll Do

  • Load and unload glass, materials, and equipment for daily installs and deliveries
  • Check in incoming glass shipments using our inventory software and verify orders against POs
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory counts across raw glass, hardware, and supplies
  • Coordinate and handle deliveries — incoming and outgoing
  • Assist in the fabrication of IGUs (insulated glass units), including prepping materials, sealing, and quality checks
  • Keep the shop organized, safe, and audit-ready
  • Support the Shop Manager with day-to-day operations and jump in wherever the shop needs a hand
  • Help troubleshoot inventory discrepancies before they become job-site problems

What You Bring

  • Experience in a warehouse, shop, or manufacturing environment (glass or construction industry a plus)
  • Comfort with physical work — lifting, loading, and moving glass and materials safely
  • Basic computer skills and comfort learning inventory/shop management software
  • Strong attention to detail — a miscounted or mislabeled piece of glass costs time and money
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience a plus (or willingness to get certified)
  • Clean driving record preferred if deliveries are part of the role

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Stable, hands-on role with real ownership over how the shop runs
  • Room to grow into Shop Manager, Glazier, or other operations roles
  • Team environment where your work directly supports the crews in the field
  • Training provided on our systems, IGU fabrication process, and shop procedures

Benefits:

  • Company provided short term and long term disability and life-insurance
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits availabe
  • 2 weeks paid time off – earn additional PTO on each anniversary
  • 8 paid holidays

Our Values: HIGHER

  • Here to Serve — each other and the company
  • Integrity in all dealings
  • Growth mindset shared by all
  • Hard work, play hard
  • Elite performance and nothing less
  • Respect for all people

Apply today and help keep Glass Doctor of North Texas running like a well-oiled machine.
