Description
Position Summary: Assists in the repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of all mechanical equipment for the PVSC treatment facility.
Minimum Requirements
Requirements: Knowledge of production machinery, pumps and other heavy rotating machinery. Basic understanding of mechanical drawings as well as pneumatic and hydraulic schematics. Knowledge of machine shop practices along with the basic principles of rigging and millwright work. Must be knowledgeable of the safety precautions that must be exercised during maintenance and repair activities. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position and carry out verbal and written instructions. Must be available for emergencies and/or job assignments on a 24-hour basis.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience as a maintenance apprentice with related knowledge and skills in the mechanic trade.
License and/or Certifications: Must have a valid New Jersey driver's license.
Education: High school diploma, vocational school diploma or equivalency certificate. Advanced training at a technical college or trade school is preferred.
Physical Demands: Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation to ensure the health and safety of oneself and others are maintained. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, legs and the whole body such as sitting, standing, climbing (including ladders), lifting up to 50 lbs., balancing, walking, stooping, pushing, pulling, and handling heavy objects. Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into confined spaces while wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as, but not limited to, canister and dust masks, as well as SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus).
Working Conditions: Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system and will be required to work indoors and outdoors.

The expected base pay range for this position is $79,643 to $99,704. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, education, training, and formal credentials.
