Off Shift: CNC Programmer/Machinist

Pay: $18.00 – $30.00 / hour. Pay is dependent on experience and skill set. Amount is not inclusive of the total compensation package.

Shift Premiums:
  • 2nd Shift: $2.00 / hour
  • 3rd Shift: $1.50 / hour

Purpose of the Job
This manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to support custom contract manufacturing operations, from single components and OEM parts and subassemblies to complete manufacturing and engineering capabilities and services. This role is open on 2nd and 3rd shift.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC equipment using product data to produce die components in accordance with instructions.
  • Interpret blueprints of products, dies, and checking fixtures to understand shape, mechanical structure, and tool and checking method operation.
  • Document work in an organized fashion, with data and tool files stored in an organized directory tree per Plant Manager instructions.
  • Request materials and resources with sufficient lead time to maintain the planned schedule.
  • Set up and operate machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, saws, and drill presses, in a safe manner that minimizes material and time waste.
  • Set up and safely operate CNC equipment, following a detailed instruction list for correct ATL offsets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of experience in machining, methodizing, and/or CNC programming.
  • Ability to make decisions based on data trends and intuition (required).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems.
  • Good computer and mathematical skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly stand and walk for extended periods while operating CNC machinery.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to handle tools, parts, and machine controls with precision.
  • Frequently lift or move materials and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally bend, reach, or crouch to load and unload machines.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception for reading blueprints and inspecting finished parts.

Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with active CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other machine tools.
  • Exposure to metal shavings, cutting fluids, and lubricants.
  • Noise levels may be high; hearing protection is required and provided.
  • Safety glasses are required and provided.
  • Steel-toe safety shoes or boots are required.

Shift Schedule
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Monday – Friday with occasional overtime, including weekends as needed.
