Job description

Lead Electrical Systems Engineer 

Location: Norcross, GA 

Salary: $80K-$130K based on experience

Lead the design, development, and integration of industrial automation systems, including robotic welding equipment, power distribution, motion control, embedded electronics, and machine integration. This hands-on role supports projects from concept through commissioning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical control systems for automated machinery and robotic welding applications.

  • Develop and integrate power distribution, motion control, safety systems, servo drives, HMIs, industrial PCs, and related equipment.

  • Design machine safety systems, including E-Stops, STO, SS1, safety relays, and interlocks.

  • Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, control panels, and BOMs.

  • Design and build industrial control panels, operator stations, and field junction boxes.

  • Integrate motors, encoders, gearboxes, brakes, sensors, and safety-rated motion components.

  • Perform system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, validation, and performance optimization.

  • Support machine builds, field startups, embedded electronics integration, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in automation, robotics, machine building, or industrial manufacturing.

  • Strong expertise in industrial power systems, controls, motion systems, and machine safety standards.

  • Experience designing electrical schematics, control panels, and integrated automation solutions.

  • Comfortable working in both engineering and production-floor environments.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver practical solutions under tight deadlines.
