Job Description

Machine Safety Specialist – Sales Engineer at Grantek will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Practice group. This role involves a wide range of activities, including pre-sales, preliminary engineering assessments, machine risk assessments, proposal development, technical marketing, and sales engagements, and supporting the Delivery team. The Sales Engineer is responsible for Client Experience, Pricing, Marketing, and technical guidance on execution of Work.  This role leads risk assessments, validates safety-related control systems, supports compliance to global standards (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61508, ANSI B11.19), and partners closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to deliver safe and compliant solutions across the full system life cycle.

Essential Duties:

  • Create comprehensive Grantek proposals based on client win strategies.
  • Assess pricing, identify potential risks, and craft winning proposals.
  • Effectively present proposals to clients.
  • Architect and present customer solutions and architectures to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling presentations.
  • Develop, maintain, and nurture relationships with key clients; understand their needs, provide guidance, and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Practice group (Smart Safety and Logistics) to make informed decisions and contribute to the group's direction and strategy development.
  • Collaborate with our quality department to enforce quality and standards.
  • Analyze and resolve problems, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct client follow-ups, investigate for potential and upcoming work and observe for potential client needs.
  • Execute machine safety assessments and/or consulting services for key clients.

Collaboration:

  • With Practice leaders and Delivery Managers, support all required sales activities.
  • With Marketing Team, provide case studies to highlight industry and customer success.
  • With Delivery Team, be aware of projects at customers in the Portfolio and drive their associated account strategies.
  • With Engineering Team, work across the engineering department and be the subject matter experts to augment the proposal process.
  • Participate in planning to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Engage, support & participate in company decisions, direction & strategy development.
Qualifications
  • Possesses at least one of the following: B.Sc. Engineering/Electrical Engineering, or Related Engineering Degree and/or Technology Diploma/Certification.
  • TUV Rhineland or Nord certification a plus
  • Have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a team-based environment, account management, and sales functions.
  • Strong knowledge of a sales process, and engineering design principles and processes relating to machine safety.
  • Have been involved in Machine Safety facet of automation projects.
  • Knowledge in project management, strategic pricing, and business strategy development.
  • Strong mentorship and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor the practice team.
  • Customer-centric mindset and a focus on delivering an excellent client experience. Adaptable, organized, and results driven.
  • Travel requirement 30-50% across North America
