Job description

3rd shift Full-time position with a 4 day work week working Monday - Thursday (10hr shifts). 8:00pm-6:00am Overtime is available.

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the set up and operation of a wide range of jobs assigned to Hydromat rotary transfer machines while following the documented procedures, including safety procedures. Will be responsible for the quality of parts produced. Assists in the instruction of set-up, operators, and operator trainees. Diagnose, troubleshoot and make adjustments. May be assigned to remove and/or replace worn or defective parts. Must have the fundamental tools to safely and effectively perform the job. To perform this job successfully, this individual will be required to perform all duties in a safe and timely manner with a keen eye for quality. The employee must have the ability to operate manufacturing equipment and be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be able to set up, operate and adjust Hydromat rotatory transfer machines
  • Responsible for operating the machines, tool monitoring and replacement, stocking and loading the machine, keeping it filled with proper oil levels, cutting fluids or lube and keep the machine free of chip build-up
  • Required to make all tool adjustments, offsets and troubleshoot problems; set speeds, and feeds for proper materials and do minor repairs as needed
  • Meet the production rates set for each machine
  • Check and monitor parts to ensure they remain within the part specifications. Perform all necessary quality checks using precision measuring instruments
  • Communicate daily with supervision, other operators, and personnel to make sure that the operation/job is completed correctly
  • Keep accurate counts and production records
  • Other duties may be assigned.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years of experience running rotary transfer machines or similar.
  • Basic computer operation. Ability to enter data (numbers) and simple notes.
  • Knowledge of reading blueprints, tool layouts and applying simple to complex instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide positive and negative whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to add and subtract positive and negative numbers up to 5 decimal places.
  • Intermediate knowledge of gages. Ability to read and interpret gages.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Time management. Able to maintain multiple machines simultaneously.
