Job Description:

The Machine Operator is primarily responsible for working from written work instructions and job specific written procedures to perform assigned tasks.  The primary responsibilities of this position include basic machine operations (pressing buttons) and monitoring to operate automatic machinery, that produce small plastic components for the automotive industry. Additionally, this role will require short-distance material handling of raw materials and finished goods.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  may include some of the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Load, start up, and operate molding machines, semi-automatic assembly machines, automatic assembly machines, or manual assembly machines; Shuts down if necessary
  • Perform Color Changes and Material Handling
  • Perform visual and functional quality inspection at predetermined intervals to assure product quality meets standards Material handling, monitoring of auxiliary equipment, and minor maintenance required
  • Perform gaging as necessary to assure product meets dimensional standards
  • Correctly label products and palletize for transfer to next operation
  • Maintain accurate documentation to meet job requirements
  • Communicate with prior and oncoming shifts to achieve production requirements and promote awareness
  • Communicate any Machine/Quality issues immediately to supervisor
  • Promote safety by abiding to all related policies and procedures of ITW Seat Components
  • Follows all procedures as outlined by ISO 9001, OSHA and IATF 16949.
  • Complete all additional tasks, as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in Manufacturing; experience working in plastic injection molding is a plus
  • Basic math skills and reasoning ability
  • Must be able to stand / walk for a full manufacturing shift 
  • Able to lift to 55 lbs. occasionally, with or without assistance
  • Team player with good attitude and strong work ethic
  • Good Communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Compensation Information:

19.90 with a 10% shift premium = Total: $21.89
