We are currently hiring for a Machine Operator I. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

What you’ll do:

  • Safety: Perform the duties of Press/Machine Operator in a safe manner
  • Quality Control: Ensure that products produced and packaged meet or exceed Company Quality Standards as per the company’s Total Quality Management Program
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Monitor plant equipment, performing necessary repairs as required, and reporting to the Shift Supervisor all maintenance work performed and any maintenance concerns
  • Housekeeping: General cleanliness and tidiness of the work area(s)
  • Clean-Up: Participates in the plant clean up at shift's end
  • Other Duties: All other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Assistant Plant Manager or Plant Manager

What you need to succeed

The Machine/Press Operator will learn the skills and knowledge of the following positions: General Laborer, Quality Control, Utility Person, and Strapper.

  • Requires standing, stooping, reaching, and lifting to 50 lbs
  • Requires the ability to perform work with hands and/or arms in the same repetitive motion above and below shoulder level
  • Ability to program and operate the dosing equipment systems (Moisture controls, aggregate dosing, add mixtures, and pigment dosing)
  • Operate, maintain, and make adjustments to:
    • Machine/Press
    • Mixer
    • Pallet transport systems and pallet buffer if applicable
    • Bogie and finger car systems including the kilns
    • Cuber/packaging and strapping systems
  • Perform daily quality test
  • Complete necessary paperwork including Density test, Production log, Sieve test, Preventative Maintenance Checklist, Safety Testing Checklist, and Production reports
  • Ability to read and write in the English language
  • Basic computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office components, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Must be able to work night shift 
  • 6+ months of experience working in a manufacturing environment desirable
