Job description

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Machine Operator I - 2nd Shift at our Troy, IL facility! The core hours Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.
The hourly rate for this position is 24.87/hr per hour, plus a $0.50 shift differential. Machine Operator's follow a wage progression schedule and will reach $26.61 per hour after 10 months.

What you'll do:
The Machine Operator will be required to operate sheet metal fabrication machines, read shop orders, read and understand engineering drawings, perform quality checks, and use calibration equipment such as calipers, or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions.
In this function, you will:
• Work with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum)
• Run various machine operations (brake press, hammer flanger, buffalo roller, hand scribing & hand sheering)
Safety & Quality Training necessary, but not limited to:
• Types of Mechanical Power Presses
• Safe Guarding Requirements
• Trip Devices
• Press Inspections
• Dye Setting
• Light Curtain Blanking Procedure
• Basic Operating Controls
• First Piece Quality Inspection
• In-process Quality Inspection
• Linknet training
• Laser Operator Training
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 6 months Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing enviornment.
• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Troy, IL will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years of Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics or technical manuals.
• Experience with calibration equipment such as calipers.
• Prior SAP experience
• Proficient with basic computer applications.
