Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Perforating Press Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining perforating press equipment to produce precise and high-quality perforated materials according to customer specifications. This requires meeting the highest degree of accuracy and performing such functions as directed by supervisor. The position entails understanding of press operations, shop math, drawings, specifications, and precision measuring instruments. One will be required to operate all presses on the shop floor including secondary equipment, such as slitters and levelers. Exercising good judgment for planning and performing tasks and making practical decisions is necessary. This position requires that the individual work independently with minimal supervision, follow company policies, and company safety program. The position requires bending, standing, pushing/pulling, and lifting a reasonable amount of weight. In addition, the individual will maintain legible paperwork such as inspection sheets, historical forms, and all other department formalities. A clean working area must always be maintained

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate perforating press equipment, ensuring optimal performance and output.
  • Follow daily planning and work schedule as defined.
  • Monitor machine operation, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of shop tooling fixtures.
  • Must be able to work from verbal instructions together with the production support team.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Record production data and complete required documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet production deadlines.
  • Participate in Lean continuous improvement activities, a/o reduction of setup times and run times.

Required Skills
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Perforating Press Operator or in a related role in manufacturing or metalworking.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting press machinery.
  • Ability to read and intrepid technical documents, blueprints, and measuring equipment.
  • Basic math skills for measuring, calculating, and verifying specifications.
  • Able to do multiple tasks; job requires one to operate multiple machinery and/or processes.
  • Must be motivated, collaborative, and exercise good judgment to perform and make practical decisions.
  • Physical ability to lift a reasonable amount of weight and stand for extended periods.
  • Must support company goals, ISO standards and Lean Mfg. initiatives.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a Manufacturing environment.
