Job description

Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $23.00/Hr
Reports To: Purchasing Manager
Date: May 2026

SUMMARY: Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw material, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising, for organization by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creates purchase orders from requisitions.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Data entry and filing paperwork.
  • Obtains price quotes from multiple suppliers.
  • Runs reports to help determine needs.
  • Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
  • Issues purchase orders to suppliers and confirm delivery date, quantity ordered and price are correct.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Processes receipts and invoices for payment.
  • Expedites delivery of goods to users.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred (Must be at least 18 years of age).
  • Previous experience as a storeroom clerk, in food production, or airline catering environment is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene standards is important.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication skills with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English proficiently.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Supervisory Responsibility?
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This position is in a food manufacturing facility and involves working in areas that may be cold, hot, humid, or noisy. The environment includes exposure to strong food odors, allergens, and potentially working with equipment. Employees may need to follow strict sanitation and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work may take place on wet or slippery surfaces. Schedules may include overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.?
