Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

Job Description

This role operates production machinery in a manufacturing facility that makes products used in construction and packaging applications. You will load bulk materials, monitor and adjust machine settings, and use measuring instruments to ensure products meet specifications. This position works on 2nd shift and requires comfort working in a hot environment and handling physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manually load bulk material into production machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor machines during operation and make adjustments to speed and temperature settings to maintain product quality.
  • Use thickness gauges and other quality instruments to verify that products meet client specifications.
  • Follow work instructions and production guidelines to ensure consistent and accurate output.
  • Support packaging of finished products as needed to meet production goals.
  • Use hand tools and related equipment to assist with machine operation and minor adjustments.
  • Perform general labor tasks associated with machine operation and production as assigned.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in general production or manufacturing environments.
  • Previous experience as a machine operator or in machine operation roles.
  • Ability to use quality instruments such as thickness gauges to verify product specifications.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Comfort working in a hot manufacturing environment for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to perform general labor tasks, including standing, bending, and moving throughout the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with gauges and other measurement tools in a production environment.

  • Reliability and willingness to work overtime, including some Saturdays, as production requires.
