Job Description

Peterson Cat has a need for a Delivery & Revisit Specialist based at our Medford, OR location.

SUMMARY

Support the Forestry Sales Group by conducting new forestry equipment deliveries, equipment demonstrations and revisits, with a focus on safety, maintenance and operation. The Delivery and Revisit Specialist will conduct these tasks for all forestry products represented by Peterson CAT as outlined by the manufacturers Operations and Maintenance Manual ("OMM"). Assist sales staff and Machine Sales Representatives ("MSR's") with identifying best in class features and benefits for all forestry products represented by Peterson CAT. Assist sales staff and MSR's with equipment application in order to increase customer production, profits and reduce maintenance costs. Address customer complaints regarding machine component failure and overall performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign the functions to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Job functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform safety, operation and maintenance training per the OMM for all forestry equipment sales. Ensure all customer employees who will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the delivered unit are fully trained in all aspects of safety, maintenance and operation. While doing so, represent Peterson CAT and the MSR, if not present, in a professional manner.

  • Provide safety, operation and maintenance training for all Associated Equipment Manufactures attachments and equipment sold through Peterson CAT. Attachments such as but not limited to Waratah, SouthStar and Quadco felling, harvesting and processing attachments.

  • Prepare and manage all documentation needed for startup, delivery and revisits. Keep current on required training and maintain appropriate training records to ensure compliance with CAT and other equipment manufacturers. Prepare and manage Service Information Management System tickets.

  • Revisit all equipment within 250 hours of initial startup and again before the end of the manufacturer's basic and extended warranty. Work with the Service Department to ensure all warrantable repairs are completed and filed with the manufacturer prior to the end of the manufacturer's warranty period.

  • Emphasize the benefit of machine telematics and instruct the owner / maintenance supervisor on the proper use of all available information.

  • Conduct used equipment appraisals on forestry equipment, highlight needed repairs and estimate the costs associated with those repairs. Prepare a professional appraisal report for the Used Equipment Manager and share with the Regional Sales Manager and MSR assigned to the customer.

  • Present safety, maintenance and operator training to large groups of customer representatives including management staff, technicians and operators in a classroom and / or outdoor environment beyond standard machine startup training. This may include yearly safety training, AEM seminars, equipment shows etc.

  • Drive customer satisfaction with phone and onsite technical support. Establish repour with all Technical Communicators within Peterson CAT. Work closely with the Technical Communicators to help resolve machine health issues. Work with the assigned Product Support Sales Representatives to schedule repairs requiring field or shop repair.

  • Ensure consistent installation procedures per the Delivery and Revisit ("D&R") team throughout the company. Processor installs, grapple installs and equipment Pre-Delivery Inspections.

  • Assist MSR's as requested. Establish strict communication routines and open lines of communication.

  • Work with manufacturer's representatives to ensure timely resolution of machine and attachment issues. Keep the Manager of Forest Products and Development apprised of issues effecting the health of the product.

  • Work directly with manufacturers on current and new product development.

  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.

  • Must be able to travel within assigned territory, including overnight travel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree in Diesel Technology or related field and a minimum of five years of related experience in heavy equipment with a focus on forestry, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
