Machine Operator I

Description
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring machinery used in the fabrication of foam parts and components. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality, on-time production in accordance with company specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience working with industrial equipment, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. **4 total openings**
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate various fabrication machines such as CNC routers, die cutters, hot wire cutters, slitters, or laminators.
  • Load and unload foam materials onto machines, ensuring proper alignment and feed.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform routine quality checks, including measurements and visual inspections.
  • Make minor machine adjustments and notify maintenance of any mechanical issues.
  • Accurately record production data including counts, material usage, and downtime.
  • Read and interpret job travelers, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain clean workstations and perform basic preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Assist with material handling, packaging, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior machine operation experience in a manufacturing or foam fabrication environment is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine functions.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and blueprints.
  • Comfortable using measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, or gauges.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Must be able to read and understand work instructions, safety rules, and machine settings in English.
  • Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish) is a plus for effective communication on a diverse team.
