  • First Shift: 6:45 AM - 3:05 PM

ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY:
The Machine Operator is responsible to complete a variety of maintenance, development and operations tasks that promote the efficient production of MSI Express Inc. Their duties and responsibilities often include: Monitoring and maintaining warehouse equipment and machinery.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
  • The operator is responsible to understand all quality specifications associated with the machinery and operate the machinery or equipment in compliance with those standards
  • The operator is responsible to operate the machinery or equipment at speeds sufficient to accomplish the production efficiency goals set by the supervisor
  • The operator is responsible to recognize when the equipment is malfunctioning or operating at substandard speeds and immediately inform the supervisor
  • The operator is responsible to ensure that all raw materials required to operate the machinery or equipment are of the specified part number prior to being installed on the equipment
  • The operator is required to perform basic maintenance on the machinery or equipment to which they are assigned
  • The operator is required to assist in the cleanup and / or the setup of the line by stocking, reworking, troubleshooting and any other duties that will be required to keep the line functioning
  • Follow all company policies including but not limited to general manufacturing and safety practices
  • This position has responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their influence. The associate in this job has the responsibility to report, in a timely manner, Food Safety and Quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action on those problems
  • Perform any other duties as instructed by management

QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE:
Minimum Qualifications/Skills
  • To work overtime as needed
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift
  • Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly execute position
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to identify different written forms, box labels and bottle codes
  • Ability to operate computer equipment for the line operation

  • The work involves risks or discomforts, e.g. working around moving parts and equipment, which require some safety precautions and/or the use of protective safety equipment
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials
  • Moving mechanical parts
  • Noise levels that require the use of hearing protection
  • Temperature and humidity swings
  • Fumes associated with forklifts
  • Oil and grease used on machine parts for lubrication
  • Frequent moisture during the cleaning process of production area
  • Smells/Odors associated with the product and equipment maintenance including chemicals used during cleaning process and cleanup and non-toxic glue
  • Dust associated with corrugate boxes
  • Dust and wood fiber associated with wooden pallets
  • Allergen's related to any food products related to product which may be in production
  • Must wear personal protective equipment as required within your facility in the appropriate designated areas
  • Must require compliance with OSHA regulations or MSDS standards
