Job description

Job Description:
As a machine operator you will be expected to be a technical professional responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintaining industrial machinery to ensure efficient production cycles. A machine operator is a vital link in manufacturing, ensuring goods are produced safely and to high-quality standards.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the highest level of safety in the work environment by reporting hazards, maintaining a clean and organized workspace and participating in and promoting safety improvements.
  • Participate and complete daily safety checks ensuring the equipment is operating with all required safety equipment.
  • Start and stop equipment as required
  • Perform all required quality check and ensure the product is produced within the required specification. Stop work and alert Supervision for product or processes not within the required specification.
  • Safely utilize the tools required to ensure all measurements and adjustments are properly made.
  • Weld and grind wire for splicing as needed.
  • Maintain all production documentation accurately.
  • Pack product as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform basic calculations, including ratios, percentages, and measurements.
  • Capability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift heavy items without assistance. (Single lift shall not exceed 50lbs)
  • Attention to detail is required for identifying small defects and ensuring machine operate within exact parameters.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and requires hearing protection. Certain personal protective equipment is required in the manufacturing areas. Reaching, lifting, and/or carrying items are typical in this environment, and packages in the manufacturing environment can exceed 35 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms and regularly required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
