JOB TITLE:ย  Technical Machine Operator

Shift B! 5:00AM-5:30PM Thu-Sat

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of this job is to maintain the performance and uptime of an automated zone on a Rika production line. This job requires expertise on the Rika automated equipment, including a high level of clearing faults and jams, and promptly escalating issues that are above the ability of this level. This job requires close work with the technical team for trouble shooting equipment and developing better ways to run and maintain equipment.

This job requires accountability to all manufacturing procedures and associated documentation for automated manufacturing equipment and processes. This includes running equipment, material handling functions, inspecting product, testing in accordance with procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Takes ownership over all aspects of automated processes and adheres to all procedures including safety, quality, and efficiencies.
  • Applies extensive knowledge to adhere to GMP compliance on the manufacturing floor.
  • Operates automated equipment along with associated work cells, including start up and shut down.
  • Will clear all material-related loading issues/jams that do not require a tool (work that does not require a work order).
  • Tracks and identifies quality issues on automated equipment and takes immediate action or escalates accordingly.
  • Updates the visual management board for zone performance and participates in the Tier 1 meetings
  • Teaches other opperators best practices when operating equipment.
  • Developes Machine Operator 1 with hands on experience in next level training for assigned equipment
  • Subject matter expert for assigned equipment
  • Assists maintenance technicians with Category II Preventative Maintenance.
  • Assists with basic maintenance as needed
  • Interfaces frequentlyย with computer and understands navigational functions with HMI's (Human Machine Interface).
  • Utilizes machine data to assist with troubleshooting and communicating equipment issues, quality defects, and equipment performance.
  • Will effectively navigate HMI and perform basic maintenance manual motions.
  • Works with and assists engineers, leadership, and technicians in problem solving of quality and safety, production process, and raw material issues.
  • Ability to prioritize time between multiple machines
  • Drives to root cause of machine issues and can communicate the issues clearly
  • Provides and receives constructive feedback without shutting down communication among team members.
  • Ensures efficiency of material loading and unloading for automated processes.
  • Conducts thorough practices with inspecting, packaging, and labeling of product.
  • Assists with process verifications and initiates work orders for automated processes.
  • Contributes toย resolution and sorting of PDF products and processes.
  • Assists engineers in prototyping, specialty builds, testing, validations, and implementing new materials, designs and process improvements; must record data as necessary.
  • Requires the ability to work overtime to meet business needs.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May assist with covering areas in material handling.
  • May be required to assist leadership with floor coverage and coordination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

High school diploma or GED.

Experience

  • Atleast 1 year of production experience on the Rika automated line.
  • Experience in Process Control (PC) testing and molding/welding quality requirements is preferred.ย 
  • Working knowledge with HMI interactions is preferred.
  • Process knowledge of the Auto Cell and RF work centers is preferred.ย 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and maintained competency in all areas required at the assembler level.

Skills

  • Verified expertise on atleaset 1 zone.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety protocols required for operating automated and semi-automated equipment.
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing operating procedures that apply to technical, automated, and semi-automated operating systems.
  • Require extensive knowledge and understanding of process control activities and functions.
  • Strongย team cooperation and ability to prioritize workload to meet schedule requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Manufacturing Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity.

  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up.
  • Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to maintain pace with the area assigned.ย 
  • Requires the ability to regularly perform repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to work under florescent lighting.
  • Requires the ability to bond using repetitive moderate force gripping.
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift.
