Job description

Who We’re Looking For

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator to run our Bobst 160 Flatbed Die Cutting machine on 2nd shift at our Winston Salem facility. If you have corrugated industry experience, are mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced production environment, we’d love to have you on our team! What You’ll Do
  • Operate printing machine or die-cutters safely and efficiently to meet daily production goals.

  • Set up, adjust, and monitor the die-cutting process according to job specifications.

  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure accuracy and conformance with customer requirements.

  • Troubleshoot and correct minor mechanical issues with minimal downtime.

  • Communicate machine performance issues to maintenance or supervision as needed.

  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately and on time.

  • Assist in changeovers and clean-up to maintain machine efficiency and product quality.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company safety policies.

What You Bring

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 1–2 years of machine operator experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience operating printing and die-cutting equipment (Bobst preferred) is a strong plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.).

  • Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with basic computer systems and data entry for production tracking.

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Work in a fast-paced, noisy, industrial environment with varying temperatures.

  • Must be able to work 3rd shift (typically 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and overtime as needed.
