Machine Operator / Manufacturing Warehouse Worker

Location: Henrico, VA
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $18.00/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Job Overview

We are looking for dependable Machine Operators / Manufacturing Warehouse Workers to join a growing production team in Henrico, VA. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with room for growth for employees who demonstrate good attendance, a strong work ethic, and the ability to learn different parts of the operation.

The Machine Operator may be assigned to different areas of the facility based on experience and training. The work can include operating older-style production machines, packaging products, packing cups, shrink wrapping, and preparing different sizes of cardboard boxes for production and shipping.

Previous experience working with older manufacturing machines and shrink wrapping equipment is preferred. Candidates who are mechanically inclined and comfortable learning different machines are encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate production machines safely and efficiently according to established procedures.
  • Learn and operate different machines used to produce and prepare various sizes of cardboard boxes.
  • Assist with packaging and packing, including packing cups and other manufactured products.
  • Operate shrink wrapping equipment and prepare finished products for shipment.
  • Set up, monitor, and adjust machines as needed to maintain production requirements.
  • Inspect products for quality, proper packaging, and visible defects.
  • Package, tape, label, sort, and prepare finished products.
  • Move materials and finished products throughout the production and warehouse areas.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions and production procedures.
  • Keep the machine operator work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Report equipment problems, damaged materials, or quality concerns to the appropriate team member.
  • Assist in other manufacturing, warehouse, and production areas as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous Machine Operator, manufacturing, production, packaging, or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Experience working with older-style machines is strongly preferred.
  • Previous shrink wrapping experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable learning and operating different production machines.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely around moving equipment.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to make simple measurements.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to recognize quality issues.
  • Reliable attendance and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable working around production equipment, cardboard, packaging materials, and varying temperatures.
  • Must wear steel-toed boots while working.
  • Shorts are permitted, but clothing cannot have holes or tears.
