Job description

Job Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating the curb machine on a construction job site in a safe manner.  The Equipment Operator must complete prestart checks, assist with fluid checks, securing the equipment, cleaning, and other duties as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to company policy, as well as manufacturer’s guidelines

  • Performing daily maintenance and safety checks

  • Cleaning equipment as required

  • Ensuring that equipment is secured at the end of the shift

  • Willing to learn stringless operation, and/or be able to set string line for curb machine operation

  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands



  • Climb ladder 8-10 feet to access equipment operating station

  • Keep equipment moving along specified path to ensure equipment is processing material to required specifications

  • Remove excess built up material at the end of shift using a scrapper and shovel, periodically the Equipment Operator may need to use jack or chipping hammers


Job Requirements


  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to nature of working environment

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Complete and pass pre-employment testing, including a drug screen and physical

  • Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold

  • Must be able to physically stand long periods of time and use traffic control devices for extended periods of time

Preferred Experience


  • At least six months experience operating equipment listed above
