Job description

Rightfully Sewn is an exciting and unique organization that supplies high-quality American-produced sewn goods and creates jobs for under-served and vulnerable citizens who wish to learn vital job skills, located in Kansas City MO. We are looking for a skilled/trained commercial sewist to hire this quarter part-time. You must possess at least 1 year of experience or training through an approved sewing program and possess basic skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Sew production orders according to the highest quality standards;
  • Keep the sewing area clean and organized.
  • Sewing efficiency and production sewing must have at least 1-year experience or received commercial sewing training through a workforce development program
  • Vacuum sewing machines weekly.
  • Attend production meetings when necessary.
  • Assist with quality control when necessary.
  • Work with Line Supervisors to improve efficiency
  • Inform Line Supervisors when sewing equipment requires maintenance or supplies are about to run out so more can be ordered; and
  • Represent Rightfully Sewn at occasional internal events, such as tours and meetings.
