Machine Operator Lead Job Description

The Machine Operator Lead is responsible for overseeing the operation of multiple machines, as needed, supporting the training of other operators and ensuring optimal efficiency and quality. The Machine Operator Lead requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate and set up multiple machines, according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), as needed.

• Identify and report machine malfunctions and need for minor repairs.

• Conduct machine inspections and support the preventative maintenance process.

• Perform quality checks on finished products, ensuring they meet specifications.

• Support the training and mentoring of other machine operators.

• Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

• Load and unload materials into machines.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

• Complete and maintain accurate production documentation and logs.

• Assist with routine machine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubrication, as needed.

• Participate in process improvement initiatives.

• Recommend process improvements.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Support shift supervisor with additional tasks

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment operating complex machinery.
