Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Thumb Plastics, Inc. / 400 Liberty Street, Bad Axe, Michigan
Available Work Hours:
  • 2nd Shift

$500 Sign-on Bonus
$500 Referral Bonus Available

Job Preferences:
  • Knowledge of electrical systems - 480VAC, 230VAC, 115VAC and 24VDC
  • Knowledge of general pipe fitting
  • Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems
Job Functions:
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Search for and make any necessary repairs on all equipment.
  • Perform monthly safety checks and maintain and ensure that safety related items are functioning properly.
  • Install and set up new machinery.
  • Follow all lockout, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Provide continuous improvement.
  • Recommend plans and implement equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or cost reduction procedures.
  • Assist in the laying out of and modifying of electrical and mechanical equipment within the plant.
  • Operate various hand tools and other stationary equipment in performing the needed repairs. Also, maintain these tools and equipment, keeping them in good and working condition.
  • Fill out, finish and file work orders and preventative maintenance plans per the procedure.
  • Serve as an electrician in repairing electrical malfunctions and installing new equipment.
  • Serve as a plumber in assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings and fixtures on heating, cooling, sewer and water systems.
  • Open clogged drains and cooling systems in the facility and on the molding presses.
  • Act as carpenter in the alteration, repair painting and maintenance of the building and wood fixtures in the building.
  • Paint machinery as needed.
  • Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Follow all IATF16949 / ISO 14001 policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned.
