We are currently seeking an R&D Automotive Technician to join our Booneville, MS team. The R&D Automotive Technician assists in the design and assembly of prototype products, engineering and pre-production bodies and test equipment. This individual will build bodies, components, jigs, fixtures and other equipment to assist in the development, testing and validation of the new product development process.
Your Role in Our Mission:
  • Perform skilled operations of fabrication, machining, and welding.
  • Work with intricate and complex testing equipment.
  • Read and understand blueprints, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Operate gas, LP or electric powered forklifts.
  • Provide support for the NPD floor.
  • Build assembly and welding fixtures as needed.
  • Assemble prototype machines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of process and product quality.
  • Troubleshoot problems when they arise.

To Perform this Job Successfully:
  • Requires an Associate Degree and three years related practical experience in mechanics related to electronics, hydraulics, fabrication and welding (AWS certified preferred) or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in fabrication skills such as welding, lathe/mill operation and brake press experience.
  • Ability to use 3D CAD modeling for design of jigs/fixtures a must (Solidworks preferred).
  • Ability to work with others and understand their requested needs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
