CUTTING OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for preparing and running cutting equipment efficiently, while producing a quality product.Understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

  • Understand and comply with plant and cutting department rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Identify and operate cutting feeder, feed table, front lays, cutting platten, stripping unit, blanking unit, trim removal section, scanner, and control panel
  • Prepare make ready, break down and set up stripping units, blanking units, and female grid
  • Identify quality issues including cracked scores, skip crease, glue assist, nicks, blanker damage, and rough cuts
  • Handle and prioritize multiple tasks, read cutting schedule, read status of current jobs
  • Accurately complete all paperwork
  • Use computer to find information on upcoming jobs, lookup tooling locations, input production data
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to all GMP, safety, food safety, SQF, HACCP and food defense procedures (Training will be provided
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 or more years' experience operating Bobst die cutting equipment
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Must be able to pass the following pre-employment checks: background, physical and drug test

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Company issued Fork Truck Operator's license.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • General schedule is an 8- or 12-hour shift, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overtime is required.
