Job description

Gerkin Windows & Doors, a trusted manufacturer of high-performance vinyl and aluminum windows and storm doors, is currently seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the appearance, safety, and cleanliness of all outdoor areas at our South Sioux City, NE location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, and flower beds by mowing, trimming, planting, and watering as needed.

  • Perform seasonal grounds care, including leaf removal, weed control, and general cleanup.

  • Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and snow removal machinery.

  • Assist with snow and ice removal from sidewalks, parking lots, and building entrances, including shoveling, salting, and operating snowplows or snow blowers.

  • Maintain exterior areas by picking up debris and ensuring walkways and entrances remain clean and safe.

  • Inspect grounds and equipment regularly to identify maintenance needs and report issues to the supervisor.

  • Support facility maintenance staff with general upkeep tasks as assigned.

  • Assist with storm door assembly and product display setup as workload allows.

Schedule:

  • Monday thru Thursday: 7:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Friday: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • Saturdays as business needs dictate
  • Overtime may be required; reliable attendance is essential

Qualifications & Physical Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, crawl, climb ladders, and lift up to 60 pounds.
