Job description


Responsibilities:

Under direct and general supervision, this individual is responsible for the operation (basic features) of automated equipment used for the assembly and soldering of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA). Performs routine equipment set-up, operation, adjustment and daily maintenance. Ensures processes and equipment remain within acceptable manufacturing limits. May also perform other functions as assigned by management. This position requires someone who can work in a flexible, team oriented environment. Good technical, organization and communication skills are essential. Individuals must perform these responsibilities with an awareness of all company and department procedures. This is an entry-level position.

 

Basic Machine Operator Responsibilities:

  • Set-up, operate and maintain one or more of the following machines:
  • Solder paste printer
  • SMT placement machines
  • Reflow soldering oven
  • In-line and batch cleaners
  • Hand placement of SMT components in solder paste.
  • Accurately record and track labor and quality data.
  • Detect quality defects and help correct the problem to prevent further recurrence.
  • Carry out all duties in a proficient, orderly and safe manner while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Maintain accurate labor and quality documentation required for product (includes barcoding)
  • Follow all applicable procedures and work instructions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: High School Education, or equivalent.
  • Experience: One to two years related experience.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and vision.
  • Must be able to identify component types.
  • Able to stand and walk for eight hours in a workday.
  • Able to frequently lift 25-40 pound totes.
  • Ability to perform repetitive, detailed work using a microscope and small hand tools.
  • Ability to read and understand documentation (in English) to assemble and solder PCBAs.
  • Knowledge of IPC workmanship standards.
  • Basic computer and math skills.

Qualifications Desired:

  • IPC A-610 and J-STD certification.
  • Knowledge of "lean manufacturing" principles and practices.
