Description

Projects Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist Mill- (Setup and Operate) to join our team full-time. We manufacturer complex small, machined components for the Aerospace and Power Systems industries. We have been in business for over fifty years. The qualified candidate will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

The CNC Machinist Mill is responsible for set up and operation of complex Mill jobs without supervision ensuring part conforms to specifications and requirements. Operator may be required to run more than one machine at any given time.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate complex Mill jobs without supervision ensuring part conforms to specifications and requirements.
  • Make necessary modifications or adjustments to ensure parts are to specification.
  • Perform in a fast-paced environment meeting or exceeding production standards with a mindset for both Quality and Productivity.
  • Read and understand standard and geometric tolerances on blueprints and work instructions/operations sheets.
  • Accurately verify and document dimensions using standard measuring instruments, such as micrometers, depth gages, height gages, dial calipers, and Optical comparators.
  • Hold tight tolerances associated with the machining of precision Aerospace, and Power Generation parts.
  • Be able to troubleshoot and offer suggestions on how to resolve machining problems/issues and collaborate with engineering on changes needed to be made.
  • Maintain 5S practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • In addition to Mill-Turn duties, cross training may be required to learn and perform other duties as necessary.
  • Adjusts machine as needed to ensure specified dimensions of piece.
  • Observe operation of machine to detect potential malfunctions.
  • Stop the machine to make required adjustments as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the machinery, such as oiling /coolants Etc.
  • Enter date in the ERP system.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

Requirements


Qualifications:

  • Ability to use a computer. Experience with and ERP a plus.
  • Must be able read and understand blueprints.
  • Familiar with measurement tools such as tape measure calipers / micrometers
  • Have 3 plus years of experience with CNC Mill- machines.
  • Be Detail-oriented.
  • Ability and desire to learn and take direction.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes.
  • Strong desire to succeed.
  • Must understand, read, and write English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day.
  • Lifting up to fifty (50) pounnds
  • Bending, pulling, pushing, sitting, and reaching.
