Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Brockville, Ontario. In this role, you will operate production machinery used to manufacture industrial cables, including loading large cable spools, monitoring equipment, and ensuring product quality.

This position operates on a 12-hour rotating 2-2-3 schedule, offering a structured work pattern with built-in days off. It’s an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for stable, long-term employment in a unionized, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cable manufacturing equipment in accordance with standard procedures and safety guidelines
• Load empty cable spools, start machines, and monitor production cycles from start to finish
• Remove completed cable spools and prepare machines for the next run
• Measure and verify product specifications using tape measures and basic math skills
• Perform general production duties, including packaging and material handling
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper use of PPE
• Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality to support production schedules

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
• Experience operating machinery in a production setting
• Ability to perform basic math and accurately read measurements
• Ability to read and understand basic English work instructions
• Hands-on experience using measuring tools such as a tape measure
• Strong reliability and attendance record
• Ability to stand for extended periods during 12-hour shifts
• Comfortable performing physical work in an industrial environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in production, packaging, or manufacturing roles
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and PPE
• Experience working around large machinery or heavy materials
• Strong attention to detail and quality control

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility in Brockville, producing industrial cable products. You will work around large cable spools (approximately 6 to 9 feet in diameter) in a safety-focused setting.

The position requires standing for extended periods during 12-hour shifts. Anti-fatigue mats are provided to support comfort, and all necessary safety equipment and PPE are supplied.

The pay range for this position is $24.57 - $24.57/hr.
